Start-Ups

For hundreds of years entrepreneurs and business leaders built their dreams without the need for instruction books, courses webinars and consultants. They trusted themselves and sought out their own answers.

In recent years, you might argue that we’ve become addicted to training or paying good money for the promise of expertise. But does all this investment really deliver?

Many traditional sources of business information training and support are likely to be based on old paradigms that might not be relevant to today’s dynamic and complex entrepreneurial world.

Business today can be so complex that it’s difficult to know everything and the risk of failure is high.

So where to go for support and advice that is most applicable?

There are some good on-line information and even some helpful government sources. You can tell anyone about a problem you’re facing and they’ll no doubt have an opinion about what you should do. Even if they’ve never been in business or have few details about your situation, they’ve got the right advice. In some instances that advice might be helpful, but not often. Worst case scenario we accept it because up until then we’ve been avoiding the problem, are paralysed with fear and even suffering sleep deprivation from the worry!

Ironically, successful start-ups and entrepreneurs are independent thinkers. They are curious people who are driven to find ways that work for them in the achievement of their goals.  They are in the best position to understand the problems they face (and the best ways forward) but are usually time-poor and possibly emotionally driven. As a result, finding time for purposeful reflective practice and critical thinking can be difficult.

AsiaAus Leaders understands that its your business and you get to make the rules. We support your business capability rather than tell you what to do or how to run your show.  Based on our experience with start-ups we’ve even developed a Business Smarts Journal you can pace yourself through.

A Founder can make or break a good start-up. A Founder will also have many ‘tests’ and many ‘fails’ that challenge their confidence, self-perception and relationships. If you’re a Founder it pays to understand your traits and how they impact on your path to success.

Contact us if you want to learn more about the support we can provide. We’d love to hear from you!
